Guided by their vision for an inclusive & equitable tech industry, TWC organizes to build worker and community power through rank & file self-organization and education.

UAPTSD works for systemic change in law enforcement agencies and advocating for victims of excessive force or police misconduct. They concentrate our efforts in the San Diego County and the collective’s work includes: informing people of their rights, lending support to victims of police terror by helping them file complaints in the police ethics system and dealing with wrongful accusations. They also denounce the harassment, violence, intimidation, arrests and abuse of power by police.

The Arkansas chapter of the National Lawyers Guid is a membership organization of lawyers, law students, legal workers, and legal observers addressing inequalities in political, economic, and judicial systems. This chapter can help with Know Your Rights training and finding trained legal observers for local protests.

PLUG is a group of people in the Phoenix, Arizona, USA area who get together several times a month. They have various meetings in several different formats all with the common goal of educating the public about the Linux operating system.

The Open Computing Facility (OCF) is an all-volunteer student organization dedicated to free computing for all University of California, Berkeley students, faculty, and staff.

Access Humboldt is an innovative, self-sustaining and trusted media resource for residents of Humboldt County. It's members utilize local access media resources to engage in meaningful conversations that increase participation in civic life.

Root Access was founded in June 2017 with the goal of filling the gaps in Fresno's technology scene by building a community space for coders, engineers, hobbyists, and other technology makers to learn, explore, and share.

CRASH Space is a collection of hackers, programmers, builders, makers, and artists who promote science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) by teaching classes, participating in events, providing on-line resources, and by running a shared workshop.

Oakland Privacy is a citizens’ coalition that works statewide to defend the right to privacy, enhance public transparency and promote oversight regarding the use of surveillance techniques and equipment. As experts on municipal privacy reform, they have written use policies and impact reports for a variety of surveillance technologies, conducted research and investigations, and developed frameworks for the implementation of equipment with respect for civil rights, privacy protections and community control.

PPJC has a well-deserved reputation for presenting some of the world’s finest progressive speakers. They offer a free monthly forum on a wide variety of issues – broadcast live on local TV – and host visiting activists from around the globe.

Their goal is to use street theater, humor, satire and props to get their message across: world peace, feminist values, racial justice, immigrant rights, and equal rights for all.

techLEAD researches tech issues, provide aid to the community, host and attend gatherings, help educate the public, defend those who are on the margins, and provide knowledge support to decision-makers and leaders in San Diego.

Aspiration offers a range of options for organizations interested in increasing their capacity around using technology. Hands-on training, technical support, and coaching in strategy and implementation are provided by their experienced program staff.

They’re a volunteer-run collective. Members do roughly one 3-4hr shift a week, running the store and working the cash register.

Cybersecurity Club of San Francisco State University

CPCSCC probes city, county, and federal government offices through public records requests to determine techniques and funding behind surveillance efforts anywhere in the county. They also attend public meetings in which surveillance issues are discussed to stay up-to-date with ongoing efforts.

Cal Poly's group of security-oriented individuals who strive to make cybersecurity concepts and ethical hacking practices and training available and accessible to everyone.

Canal Alliance offers immigration legal services, education and career programs, and social services to help Latino immigrants and their families overcome the barriers to success.

DEF CON 719 is a community of Colorado Springs residents sharing their passion for IT security at regular educational meetups.

Privacy Lab is an initiative of the Information Society Project at Yale Law Schoo exploring the connection between privacy, security, and anonymity through hands-on software and hardware implementation, such as cybersecurity workshops.

Ethical Tech Initiative is a research group for law students at George Washington University which holds regular events highlighting implicite values in digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, and how they can be built differently.

The UF Student Infosec Team (UFSIT) is the cybersecurity club at the University of Florida. They are student-led and passionate about all things cybersecurity and their weekly meetings are a great place to learn and often include presentations from club members and industry professionals on a wide array of security topics. Their goal is to provide a welcoming environment for students to learn more about all areas of information security, including topics such as penetration testing, reverse engineering, vulnerability research, digital forensics, and more.

They expose how residents or reacked withouy public discussion, approval, or recourse, while centering communities of color, immigrants, poor people, activists, and other unjustly targeted groups.

OSUSEC focuses on gaining hands-on experience with exploiting vulnerabilities in systems and networks, defending against these attacks, getting involved in the security community and participating in CTF’s.

Their Mission: To bring about transparency and control in the acquisition and use of surveillance systems in the Portland Metro area, whether personal data is captured by the government or by commercial entities. Transparency is essential to ensure privacy protections, community control, fairness, and respect for civil rights.

Dedicated to the idea that users have a central role in how their communications networks are operated. They do that by building their own networks that are shared with the local community, and by helping to educate others in how they can too.

Techno-Activism Third Mondays (TA3M) is an informal meetup designed to connect software creators and activists who are interested in censorship, surveillance, and open technology.

EFF-Austin was actually the first EFF Chapter back in 1992. Years later, after EFF moved away from the chapter model, they are still active allies in the Austin area. EFF-Austin regularly highlights digital rights issues and the potential for new technologies with regular live events, and is active on city and state level advocacy.
